TRAC Racing Matamata, located at the Matamata racecourse two kilometres south of the eastern Waikato township of Matamata, is a centre of racing and training excellence.
Twelve race meetings per season, including its Premier fixture in February, are staged on Racing Matamata’s left-handed track, while the Matamata racecourse houses New Zealand’s most successful training centre, with up to 800 horses prepared there in any month of the year. Racing Matamata has also undertaken an extensive programme to construct on-site stabling, with 140 horses now accommodated there.
Facilities are available for non-raceday activities, ranging from indoor functions such as weddings and funerals as well as outdoor gatherings.
